GMU Cycling
GMU Cycling is a recreational club for anyone how likes to have fun on two wheels. We have riders of all level, from beginners to professional racers. We focus on Road and MTB but we also have members who do trials and Triathlons. The Club was formed in the spring of 2003 and it has grown very fast.
A very important part of GMU Cycling is the racing team. This team is formed by male and female students. Graduate students and faculty can also be on the racing team. GMU Cycling participates in the ACCC (Atlantic Coast Cycling Conference) of the NCCA (National Collegiate Cycling Association). Several schools from the area like UVA, UMD, VA Tech, WVU, NCSU, and others host road races during the spring and mountain bike races during the fall.
GMU Cycling does not require its members to race, although racing is encouraged, and it plays a big role in the club. We have several training rides per week and also recreational rides. We encourage all the students, faculty and staff who want to get out and ride their bikes to join the club and ride as a group.
